Idaho has plenty of Black Bears. There are areas, the Idaho Fish and Game has extended the Idaho Black Bear hunting season, to allow you to buy 2 tags for additional harvest. Idaho Black Bear hunting is conducted from a base camp. You stay in heated wall tents with family-style meals provided. Most hunts are “fair chase,” scoping for black bear and then stalking them. Baits can be used on some hunts. Transportation is by both vehicle and saddle horse, but you should expect to do some walking on all hunts. Included on your Idaho black bear hunts are all food, lodging, guides, horses, and 4-wheel drive vehicles. You provide your personal gear, sleeping bag, rifle or bow, license, and transportation to and from Idaho.
