The Deschutes River whitewater rafting in Oregon is one of the most popular rivers in Oregon. This is not the river on which to seek solitude — the Deschutes is too popular for that. And with good reason. The Deschutes River combines good white water located 95 miles east of  Portland and 90 miles north of Bend, Oregon. Water levels are almost constant year-round, so whether you choose May or October or midsummer, you will have a fun white water rafting trip. The Deschutes rapids flow through a spectacular canyon in central Oregon's high desert. The weather typically, is hot and dry, with a light breeze most days. Rain is infrequent and short-lived, mostly in late afternoon thunderstorms. Deschutes River whitewater rafting conditions are generally quite pleasant and perfect for introducing the beginner to the thrills of class III rapids.

If you are going rafting on the Deschutes River you will need swimwear, footwear, sun block, and sunglasses for your white water rafting trip. It’s also advisable to have a set of dry clothes handy at the end of the voyage.

Rafting season is short, so plan early to book your desired date.
