artaorg photo Rafting season is short, so plan early to get your desired date. |
The one-day Merced River white water rafting trips cover 14 miles of river and include numerous Class III and IV rapids including Terminator, Grand Slam and Split Rock. Highway 140, a scenic entrance to Yosemite that runs through the gold rush town of Mariposa, parallels the river and makes this trip a convenient addition to a visit to Yosemite National Park or the California Gold Country. The Merced River has no dams to impound it, the spring and early summer snowmelt turns the Merced River into a powerful white water river. Big waves make for incredible white water thrills in a small paddle raft. The best time for whitewater rafting the Merced River in California is April - July. Merced River whitewater rafting guides require that all members have wetsuits, waterproof rainshells and fleece jackets. A personal equipment list will be provided. Call: 541-756-6974 |
