Whitewater rafting the California Salmon River, in the remote northern mountains of California, is one of the most challenging rivers to run in the spring. With no dams to impound it, the winter snow-melt cascades through the Trinity Alps and Marble Mountains forming the Salmon River.

California Salmon River twists through huge boulder gardens and pours over steep drops, crashing down a sheer granite gorge big water and wild white water. The whitewater action begins just a half-mile downstream from the put-in with Bloomer Falls... What follows is miles of non-stop action. Our first scout of the day is Cascade a choice of a 400 yard boulder garden or a 15 foot waterfall. This is all before lunch. Later as the granite walls narrow above us we continue our descent into a California Salmon River whitewater paradise.

Whitewater rafting the Merced River
ideal for those ready for for more adventurous whitewater fun. Includes numerous rapids including Terminator, Grand Slam and Split Rock. Highway 140, a scenic entrance to Yosemite that runs through the gold rush town of Mariposa, parallels the river and makes this trip a convenient addition to a visit to Yosemite National Park or the California Gold Country.
 
The spring and early summer snowmelt turns the Merced River into a powerful
white water river. Big waves make for incredible white water thrills in a small paddle raft. Merced River whitewater rafting guides will require that all members have wetsuits, waterproof rain shells and fleece jackets. A personal equipment list will be provided.

the first six miles of rapids come almost non-stop. The river winds and drops through numerous granite boulder fields. At the 6th mile there is a whitewater event which you will never forget. Then the white water rapids continue but are separated by short pools, which allow us a welcome opportunity to enjoy the scenery and solitude of the canyon. Whitewater rafting the Upper Sacramento River
is loaded with non-stop white water action.
It is 14 miles of almost continuous whitewater. In April, as the snow begins to melt on Mt. Shasta, the Upper Sacramento River springs to life. Side creeks cascade into the river, spring wildflowers blossom in the warm sun, and animals return to forage along the riverbanks
